At least 24 people were killed and 42 others injured in a suicide blast in Kabul on Monday. Three vehicles and 15 shops were also damaged in the attack.
According to the Afghan Interior Ministry, the explosion took place at around 6.40 a.m. near the residence of Mohammad Mohaqiq, second deputy of Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah.
A Toyota Corolla exploded in the Kabul's Police District 3, Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish told media.
The Taliban has officially claimed responsibility for the attack.
The terror group was targeting a bus carrying Afghan intelligence staff, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said.
Afghanistan's Chief Executive, Abdullah Abdullah, "strongly condemned" the attack. "I strongly condemn the terrorist attack on civil servants in Kabul today," he tweeted.Saharasamay desk For Latest Updates Please-
