Kings XI Punjab on Friday announced Australian big-hitter Glenn Mxwell as the captain of the side for the upcoming 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), to be played April 5 to May 21.
The 28-year-old Maxwell will take over from India's Test opener Murali Vijay, who was named captain midway through the season last year.
"With fireworks in his batting, bowling and fielding it's time to unleash the Captain in him. The King of our Pride this season - @Gmaxi_32!" the franchise confirmed the news on its official Twitter handle.
Kings XI finished at the bottom of the table last season with just four wins from 14 games. South African David Miller started the season as the skipper but was relieved of the leadership role midway.
Kings XI will start their IPL 10 campaign against Rising Pune Supergiants on April 8 in Indore, their second home venue after Mohali.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
