England all-rounder Ben Stokes was on Monday bought by Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG) for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Bengaluru.
Already on demand after his scintillating performance with both the bat and ball during England's recent tour earlier this year, Stokes was purchased by the RPSG after close bidding.A total of 357 cricketers, including 130 from abroad, are getting auctioned in the Indian Premier League (IPL) players' auction. The pool comprises 62 batsmen, 117 bowlers, 148 all-rounders and 30 wicket-keepers.
As many as 227 uncapped players are waiting to make their debut this edition inclusive of five players from Afghanistan -- Asghar Stanikzai, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Shahzad, Dawlat Zadran and Rashid Khan.
