America's Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open golf championships by one stroke, squashing Rory McIlroy's chance to end a 10-year wait for a major title. He capped off a 1-over-par 71 for a 72-hole total of 6-under 274. DeChambeau, who carried a three-shot advantage into Sunday’s final round, survived a wild back nine that saw him lose the lead to four-time major champion McIlroy before executing a perfect bunker shot from 54 yards on the par-4 18th hole to 4 feet. | ||||||||
