One such memento is of Pramod Bhagat, the guy who shuttled his way into history by becoming India’s first-ever para-badminton gold medalist in Paralympics.Pramod Bhagat presented his racquet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. The racquet was uploaded on the PM Momentos website this week on September 24, 2021 for the e-auction at the base price of Rs. 80,00,000.The 33-year-old shuttler was born in Hajipur, Bihar. He had developed polio in his leg at the age of five, for which his aunt took him to Odisha for treatment, but Pramod could not recover. At the age of 13, he went to watch a badminton match and was fascinated with the game. For the next 2 years, he was deeply engulfed in the game with footwork, fitness, and fixture of the game. He played his first tournament when he was just 15-years-old. Pramod shuttled his way into history by becoming India’s first-ever para-badminton gold medalist in Paralympics.Pramod, who has recorded several national and international records, has won four gold medals in the World Championships. He won the Gold Medal by repeating the same feat in the Tokyo Paralympics. Pramod has repeatedly hoisted the flag of pride of the country in the world.Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on twitter urged the nation to take part in the auction of several gifts and mementos that he has received over the years. Importantly, a programme initiated for the conservation and rejuvenation of the country's life-giving river Ganga.The e-auction is in process.
