Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi on Thursday announced financial assistance to the persons injured in the Mahakaushal Express derailment.
Adityanath announced that Rs 50,000 each would be given to the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 each to those with minor injuries.
At least 45 persons were injured when seven coaches of the Mahakaushal Express derailed near Mahoba around 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Upon hearing the news of the accident, the Chief Minister directed Health Minister Siddhartha Nath Singh to rush to the accident site to oversee rescue and relief operations. Singh was accompanied by Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Sinha.
While the Union Railway Ministry would get the accident probed, in view of similar suspected rail accidents in the past, Adityanath has directed the Principal Secretary (Home) and the Director General of Police to ascertain the reasons behind the accident and brief him thereafter.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
