Four persons were arrested after 10 human skeletons were found in a house in West Bengal's Burdwan district on Monday, the police said.
"We have recovered 10 human skulls and several bones during a raid at a house in Burdwan district's Purbasthali region on Monday. Four people, including three women, were arrested," a senior police officer said.
According to the police, the four accused were allegedly involved in an illegal business of selling human skeletons to the medical students. They kept the bones hidden in a secret chamber inside the house.
"Three women members of the same family and their business partner Nokul Das were arrested in the case. All four of them have been remanded to 10 days in police custody," the officer said.
The accused haven't given any details about the business and where they used to get the skeletons from.
"How the accused got hold of so many skeletons is still not clear. We are investigating if they were part of a smuggling racket," the officer added.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
