Mori Gate Relief Camp: NCT Delhi sets up relief camp to provide support to affected residents amid floods Last Updated : 19 Jul 2023 12:47:09 PM IST In response to the recent floods in the vicinity of the Yamuna River, the Delhi government has taken swift action to provide relief and support to the affected residents.
The administration of the area successfully shifted approximately 306 individuals from various location of the central Delhi to a well-organized relief camp.
Organized by the Delhi Government, the relief camp aims to address the immediate needs of the flood-affected people by providing a range of essential facilities. These include:
• Three nutritious meals a day to ensure an adequate food supply.
• Provision of milk for small children, prioritizing their nutritional requirements.
• Access to health and medical facilities to address any healthcare needs.
• Provision of toys, books, and stationary items for children, promoting educational and recreational activities.
• Round-the-clock ambulance services to handle any medical emergencies.
• 24-hour lighting arrangements to ensure adequate visibility and safety within the camp.
• Comfortable mattress arrangements for a restful sleep.
• Continuous water supply, supported by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), to meet the daily needs of the residents.
• Regular cleanliness and fumigation activities are conducted twice a day by the MCD to maintain a hygienic environment. Soap and sanitizer are also distributed for personal hygiene as well.
• Sanitary napkins and diapers are also being distributed in the relief camp.
The Delhi government, under the supervision of the District Magistrate (DM), Ms. Sonika Singh, IAS from Central, is actively involved in overseeing the relief efforts.
The DM, along with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) is continuously monitoring the situation to ensure prompt and efficient response.Upon speaking with the flood victims, it was evident that the government has provided various amenities, including biscuits for children, lighting arrangements, and bed arrangements. Furthermore, the provision of fans, as well as the deployment of Civil Defense personnel, has enhanced the comfort and safety of the residents. The Delhi government has also partnered with NGOs to offer additional support and assistance.
In the relief camps established in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Mori Gate no. 1, government has made commendable arrangements for meals, lighting, fan facilities, bed arrangements, as well as tea and breakfast provisions. Moreover, separate toilet and bathing facilities have been set up to cater to the basic hygiene needs of the residents.
The relief camps established in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Mori Gate no. 1 by the government have made arrangements to address the essential needs of the residents. The provision of meals, lighting, fan facilities, bed arrangements, and tea and breakfast provisions have been exemplary. Additionally, separate toilet and bathing facilities have been meticulously set up to ensure the basic hygiene needs of the residents are met.The Delhi government remains committed to minimizing the difficulties faced by the flood victims and aims to ensure their well-being during this challenging time. By prioritizing the provision of necessary amenities and closely coordinating relief efforts, the government seeks to alleviate the hardships faced by the affected individuals.
