Delhi district courts lawyers to strike on Friday Last Updated : 12 Oct 2017 08:10:14 PM IST (File photo)
Lawyers of all Delhi district courts will observe a one-day strike on Friday protesting against the misconduct of judges, an advocates' committee said on Thursday.
The strike is likely to paralyse judicial work in all six district courts at Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Tis Hazari, Dwarka and Karkardooma.
The co-ordination committee of all district courts bar associations, in an emergent meeting, decided to observe a complete strike to draw the attention of the judicial administration into taking action against erring judges.
"There is an urgent requirement to have a transparent mechanism to check such misbehaviour for taking appropriate action against them," said advocate Jaiveer Singh Chauhan, Secretary General of the committee.
The committee said that judges should act in a judicious manner and not treat lawyers as their subordinates and added that the judicial administration is not taking any steps to stop the misbehaviour of some judges.
On Wednesday, the lawyers at the Tis Hazari Court ' title=' Tis Hazari Court '>Tis Hazari Court observed a day-long strike against the alleged rude behaviour of a magistrate.
