News channels destroyed my life: Puri Jagannadh Last Updated : 20 Jul 2017 03:57:18 PM IST (Puri Jagannath)
Media has ruined my life-Soon after the SIT officials grilled director Puri Jagannadh for over 10 hours for his alleged links with the accused in the infamous drugs case, Puri posted a video on his Twitter handle in which he alleged that the attitude of media has spolied his life.
Puri Jagannadh was visibly hurt by the reports of the media since the news was out that he has received notices from excise department in connection with the drugs scandal. The ace director, who was interrogated for more than 10 hours by the team led by Akun Sabarwal, has expressed confidence that he will come out clean in the case.
"I've always respected media. In fact, many of them in the media are my friends. We sit and have coffee together. I've also made 'ISM' out of the love for the media. But media has ruined my life. My wife, my mother and family members have been crying watching the reports of the media about me. I don't know why they are doing this, but they have ruined my life", said Puri.
The SIT has summoned 12 personalities from the Telugu film industry for questioning in connection with the sensational racket busted earlier this month. Puri was the first to appear before the SIT, which questioned him about his alleged links with Calvin Mascrenhas, the kingpin of the racket.
Actress Charmee Kaur was scheduled to appear before the SIT on Thursday but she conveyed that she will appear on some other day. Her father said on Wednesday that she had nothing to do with the drug case. Actor Subbaraju will appear before the SIT on Friday
He has already denied taking drugs or having links with the accused. Actors Ravi Teja, Navdeep, Tarun and Nandu, actress Mumaith Khan and art director Chinna are among the other celebrities who will be questioned by the SIT.
