Prime Minister Modi Congratulates New Israeli PM Yair Lapid | ||||||||

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Yair Lapid for assuming the role of Israel's 14th Prime Minister. Modi also thanked outgoing PM Bennett for his support. In his Twitter statement, Prime Minister Modi said India was looking forward bolstring it's strategic partnership with Israel. He also noted that India and Israel is celebrating 30 years of diplomatic ties.
Indian Prime Minister also thanked out going Prime Minister Bennett.
![]() India and Israel established full diplomatic relationships on 29 January 1992 which has now developed into a strategic partnership.
Both countries depeened their exchanges in multiples fields including people to people contact. The defence and security partnership provided the base for India- Israel bilateral cooperation. After the Kargil War, India relied more on Israeli technology and arms for border security and counter terrorism. Apart from defence trade, India and Israel partnership have also been increased in Defence technology cooperation.
