Goa CM defends quality of food supplied in containment zone Last Updated : 10 Jun 2020 05:25:48 PM IST Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, here on Wednesday, said rice and other items being supplied to people in the state's only containment zone at Mangor hill were of good quality.
On Tuesday, some residents of Mangor hill in South Goa district, which accounts for a bulk of Goa's 292 active Covid-19 cases, had dumped packets of rice and pulses on the roads claiming they were being provided sub-standard food by the state government.Rejecting the allegation, the Chief Minister said the same quality grain was being supplied across Goa through ration cards. "What low standard are they talking about?. What else can we give? I don't think rice made of gold is available," Sawant said. The state administration has been providing basic food material to the residents of the containment zone. Those who couldn't afford to purchase essentials were being supplied food items free of cost.IANS Panaji For Latest Updates Please-
