Army releases video of unclaimed Pak BAT commando corpses Last Updated : 10 Sep 2019 01:59:15 AM IST Army relinfiltration attempt by a Pakistani BAT(Border Action Team) squad along the Line of Control in Keran Sector of Kupwara in the 1st week of Aug. Bodies of eliminated Pakistani Army regulars/terrorists along with equipment seen. (ANI Photo)eases The Indian Army released a video clip on Monday showing unclaimed dead bodies of four Pakistani Special Services Group (SSG) commandoes gunned down along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir on August 1.
The clip - which is 1.52 secs in duration - shows aerial footage of a hilly terrain in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir shot using a drone-mounted camera. The footage shows five dead bodies lying on the hilly terrain apart from weapons that were being carried by the commandoes.
"Pakistan is yet to claim the dead bodies," said an Army official.
On August 3, the Army had claimed that it had foiled an attempt by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) to carry out a strike in Keran sector on the LoC.
Army sources said heavy casualties were inflicted on the BAT and assessed that at least four possible SSG commandos were killed as the bodies were spotted close to the post on LoC where the action took place.
The BAT attempt had taken place on the intervening night of July 31 and August 1.
According to the Army, search operations and attempts to recover the bodies are being continuously interfered by Pakistani troops deployed in the area. This location within the Keran sector has been under intermittent shelling by Pakistani army posts.
The BAT comprises Pakistani Army commandoes as well as terrorists and carries out cross-border operations and raids across the LoC in order to ensure domination along the stretch over India. BAT personnel are trained by Pakistani Army and the Air Force.
Intelligence reports have further alerted that Pakistan plans to carry out BAT action against India at the LoC. Special Services Group commandoes have been activated near the Iqbal Bajwa post of Pakistan opposite Sir Creek in Gujarat.
On Monday, Lieutenant General Satinder Saini, GoC-in-C of Southern Command, said security capacities are being built up in the Sir Creek area after discovery of abandoned boats in the estuary that points towards possible infiltration of Pakistan-trained militants into Indian territory.IANS New Delhi For Latest Updates Please-
