India-Russia Alliance Crucial For Regional Security And Stability

India-Russia collaboration and cooperation is indispensable for ensuring global peace and security, experts from Delhi and Moscow said during an international security conference.

New Delhi: In view of the changing strategic dynamics of the world, cooperation between India and Russia becomes all-important.

“In the renewed geo-politcal scenario, India-Russia collaboration is vital for ensuring peace and stability,” strategic experts and diplomats said during a video-conference held simultaneously at Delhi and Moscow on the occasion of international security conference in Moscow which will be attended by Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Experts also opined that Russia’s experience in Syria is vital for combating terrorism.

Experts from Moscow said that international community can take a leaf from Russia’s successful mission in Syria to combat terror.

 “There is no ready to use therapy for combating terror elements while the essential aspects is that for any such combat there are three elements which are the military, social and political components,” Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Dy Chairman Alexei Kondratiev said.

“Russia has been largely successful in its Syrian operation because it could simultaneously take up all these factors in consideration and these learnings are vital for situations like that in Afghanistan,” Alexei Kondratiev further added.

Speaking on the occasion, Gulshan Sachdeva from the Centre for European Studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University said that, “The trust built with years of working together between India and Russia is a vital element for international cooperation to fight terror and to ensure security and stability in the region which has global impications.”

The video interaction titled “Regional Security: A view from Moscow and Delhi” organized by the Russian Information Center and was coordinated by Olga Dycheva, Head of the Information Department of the Russian Embassy.
