Nitish has not asked for Tejaswi resignation,' says Lalu Last Updated : 26 Jul 2017 05:43:34 PM IST RJD Chief Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi
The political situation in Bihar is grim amid number of speculations are being made about Deputy CM Tejasvi Yadav resignation. It was reported in the media circle that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may take action against his deputy before the commencement of next Assembly session.
Meanwhile, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad has made it clear on Wednesday that his son and deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav will not resign. He added that chief minister Nitish Kumar "has not asked him to resign" either.
Lalu said he spoke with Nitish on Tuesday and can therefore confirm that the Bihar CM has not asked for Tejashwi's resignation.
The RJD chief's son has been named - along with Lalu, his wife Rabri, and others - in a CBI chargesheet in a land-for-hotels corruption case .
The RJD is in a 'grand alliance' with Nitish's JD (U) and the Congress party, all of whom helm the Bihar government together.
Tejashwi too denied that he's been asked to resign.
Nitish is very conscious of his 'corruption-free image' and observers have been speculating whether he will get rid of Tejashwi to remain untainted or whether he will defend him to keep the 'grand alliance' alive .
