The celebrations of a wedding turned sour when the bridegroom suddenly died during the Barat (wedding procession) due to a heart attack.

The incident happened at Borsad town of the neighbouring Anand district when the celebration was in full swing. The deceased was identified as Suraj Solanki, a resident of Ranoli village in Anand, worked in a private company.

As the wedding procession was proceeding for the brides home with the family members dancing in a joyous mood in Borsad, the groom, Sagar Solanki, who was sitting on a friends shoulders, suddenly collapsed.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead, Sagars father Rajesh Solanki said.
