Amul milk has the power of Gujarati women: Rahul Last Updated : 01 May 2017 06:24:26 PM IST (File photo)
“Gujarat's farmers and women started the Amul milk movement. Gujarat's progress is due to hard work of crores of women and farmers and ideology of the Congress party". Rubbishing the claim of BJP's Gujarat progress Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said "today's Gujarat is being ruled by some 10-15 people and you know their names."
On Gujarat's day Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi addressed a public meeting in Narmada district to mark the beginning of his campaign ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
The meeting was held in Dediapada village, which has sizeable population of tribals. Rahul Gandhi attcked Prime Minister Narendra Modi "Modi govt.'s reality is different from their marketing and tall talks. "Congress party does not make promises. It also does not do marketing, instead it works for the people when in power. "Congress does not believe in talking, we are there to listen to the people, their issues and their problems, and will work to resolve them."
According to Gandhi, Gujarat was now being controlled by 10-15 people who corner all the benefits of power. "Patidar youth told me that entire education sector is controlled by 10-15 people close to Narendra Modi. No one has benefited in the Vibrant Gujarat either except 10-15 industrialists."
Rahul said "The RSS and the BJP do not respect tribals. They want to enslave tribals as domestic maids in urban areas."
Apart from Rahul Gandhi, Congress national general secretary Ashok Gehlot and party leader Ahmed Patel also addressed the rally.
Rahul Gandhi started his day by visiting Panduri Mata Temple on Monday at Dev Mogara village near in Gujarat’s Dediapada.
The goddess is the reigning deity of local tribals. After paying respects at the temple, Gandhi went to Dediapada to address a rally.
Rahul's Dediapada visit and paying of respect at tribal godess Panduri Mata Temple is seen as his efforts to woo tribles as assembly elections in the State will happen by the end of this year or early next year. Out of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, 27 seats are reserved for the scheduled tribes.Sahara Samay news desk For Latest Updates Please-
