A total of 149 soldiers have died in counter-terrorist operations in the country since 2015, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre said 92 soldiers died in Jammu and Kashmir.
Of this, 27 soldiers died in 2015, 55 in 2016 and this year, till March 15, 10 soldiers had died in the state.
Manipur accounted for 23 deaths, Nagaland 12, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam six each and one soldier died in Punjab.
