The Prime Minister while condemning the practices of female infanticide and foeticide, appealed to parents to not sacrifice their female child pointing out that he himself knew of incidences where a daughter had served more than five sons. He insisted that everyoneshould treasure the female child and encourage them to also contribute in nation-building.
